To provide a highly reliable air conditioner capable of reducing risks of the poor lubrication of a compressor by suppressing the dilution of refrigerating machine oil caused by a liquid refrigerant returned to a compressor side from an oil separator via an oil return circuit.
In the air conditioner, the oil separator 22 is provided in the discharge piping 33A of the compressor 21, and a first oil return circuit 37 having a throttle 36 and a second oil return circuit 40 having a solenoid valve 38 and a throttle 39 are provided in parallel between the oil separator 22 and a compressor 21 side. The air conditioner is equipped with a control part 41 closing the solenoid valve 38 until the lapse of a certain time, until a temperature of the oil separator 22 exceeds a discharge saturation temperature, or until a degree of discharging overheat exceeds a certain value at operation starting from when a stopped state of the compressor 21 continues for a predetermined time.
