PURPOSE: To provide a skin cleaner manufactured at low cost, and having a soft feel and touch and further an excellent skin cleaning effect by utilizing effectively a dry short cocoon fiber of a by-product produced in the manufacture of raw silk.

CONSTITUTION: Short cocoon fibers taken out of the cocoon boiled in reeling off raw silk are collected and dried to form a dry short cocoon fiber which is refined to form a refined dry short cocoon fiber 3 having many extremely fine fibroin fibers bundled collectively. A skin cleaner 6 is formed of cloth 4 formed with a loop of the refined dry short cocoon fiber 3 by setting the loop forming surface to the front and sewing the cloth 4 into the bag form receiving a perforated elastic material 5 therein.
