PURPOSE: To heat the whole of a room efficiently without bothering an user with troublesome operation by controlling the discharge direction of discharge grille in accordance with at least either one of an elapsed time from operation starting or the detected temperature of a temperature sensor.

CONSTITUTION: A control unit 10 starts detecting the temperature of wall surface with a radiation heat temperature sensor 12 simultaneously with the starting of operation and, further and counts the elapsed time with a timer circuit 11 while the upper limit of the wall surface temperature is set at an indoor set temperature. Warm-air is discharged from an indoor unit immediately downward in the room when the elapsed time from starting operation has not reached a given time even if the temperature in the room has not reached a given range. When the wall surface temperature reaches a given range whose upper limit is the indoor set temperature, warm-air is discharged obliquely downward automatically in the room, therefore, the whole of the room may be heated efficiently and, further, the user will never be bothered with troublesome operations.
