To provide an air conditioning system having improved comfortability ad reliability by detecting the reversing malfunction of a compressor due to an instantaneous power failure non-detectable by an electric circuit and stopping the compressor.
The air conditioning system comprises an operating current detecting device 24 for detecting an operating current in the compressor 2, and a control device for stopping the operation of the compressor 2 when the operating current exceeds a first current set value continuously for a first set time or longer. When the operating current flows exceeding a second current set value continuously for a second set time or longer, the control device 17 stops the operation of the compressor 2 and restarts it after stopped for a preset time. It detects a starting current which is generated during the reverse of the single phase constant speed compressor due to an instantaneous power failure non-detectable by the electric circuit and controls the compressor to be stopped once and then restarted, thus preventing continuous reverse of the compressor.
