Abstract:
PURPOSE:To offer an air cylinder having a high positioning accuracy at the time of low speed driving and load variation by providing a ball screw in a hollow portion of a piston rod and installing a ball nut travelable on the screw shaft. CONSTITUTION:A piston 22 fixed to a hollow piston rod 2 slides the inner wall of a cylinder 1 and a ball screw 3 and a ball nut 4 travelable on the shaft of the ball screw 3 are provided in the hollow portion of the piston rod 2, and the glange portion 22 moves by pneumatic pressure the ball nut 4 travels on the shaft of the ball screw 3 in a body with the piston 22 and turns the movement of the ball screw 3 to a rotational motion. The control of the rotation of the ball screw 3 allows to control the operation of the piston rod 2 in a high accuracy.
