Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce the frictional resistance between the external layer of an optical fiber unit and a polyethylene pipe during the air feeding of the optical fiber unit and to feed the unit in the pipe smoothly with air by mixing a lubricant with at least one of a plastic external layer constituting the optical fiber unit or the polyethylene pipe. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical optical fiber unit force feeding part 20 is equipped with a passage 22 where the optical fiber unit 10 runs. When compressed air is sent in the passage 22 from a passage 21 while rolls 30 and 30 are turned, the optical fiber unit 10 is fed into the polyethylene pipe 18 with its air pressure, the foamed polyethylene external layer 16 of the optical fiber unit 10 and polyethylene pipe 18 contain the lubricant, and the friction coefficient between the both is small, so the unit 10 is smoothly fed in the pipe 18 with the air.
