An air filter device comprises a honeycomb rotor carrying a porous adsorbent and capable of being rotated in a circumferential direction, a driving means for driving the rotor, a first gas introducing section and a second gas introduction section arranged to make two kinds of gas flow in opposite directions with each other for introducing the two kinds of gas to the rotor without mixing them with each other, a first gas discharge section for discharging from the rotor the gas introduced from the first gas introduction section, a second gas discharge section for discharging from the rotor the gas introduced from the second gas introduction section and a heater provided in an inlet of the first gas introduction section. The device is further provided with a drive controller for controlling the driving means in such a manner as to intermittently rotate the honeycomb rotor by regenerating/purging zone of the filter face corresponding to the second gas introduction section.
