Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air filter for restraining generation of a pressure loss, and enhancing collection efficiency of dust, and capable of also reducing a monofilament quantity to be used.SOLUTION: An air filter comprises a filter body formed by weaving a plurality of monofilaments 5 composed of a thermoplastic resin in the whole or a part thereof, and a cross-sectional shape of the monofilaments 5 comprises an irregular-shaped cross-sectional shape composed of a basic area part 6 of a complete round or elliptic shape and a swelling area part 7 swelling outward from the basis area part 6. Thus, its surface area expands more than a conventional substantially circular monofilament, and the collection area for collecting dust increases, and collection efficiency can be enhanced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
