Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a failure detection device for an air flow meter that can properly detect a failure of an air flow meter, in either case when ISC feedback control is performed or is not performed.SOLUTION: When the ISC feedback control is performed, engine torque is calculated from a detection value of an intake air amount of the air flow meter 3, and a failure detection of the air flow meter 3 is peformed based on a difference between the engine torque and the sum of auxiliary machine drive torque and friction torque. When the ISC feedback control is not performed, the failure detection of the air flow meter 3 is performed based on a deviation between an actual engine speed and a target engine speed of an internal combustion engine.
