Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control combustion of an engine with a simple means so as to reduce harmful components in exhaust gas by changing a condition of an air-fuel ratio into a lean condition temporally in the case where the air-fuel ratio is controlled in a rich condition at the time of operation of a general engine such as a lawn mower, and measuring a time of the lean output of an oxygen sensor at that time.
SOLUTION: At the time of operation of a general engine 1, a pulse signal is inputted from a rotation angle sensor 35 to a control circuit 40, a signal synchronizing with intake pipe negative pressure is generated, and also a signal having a output period of three signals is generated at a constant cycle on the basis of the synchronized signal. A solenoid valve 21 in a bypass passage 19 is driven so as to increase an air rate temporally, and the air-fuel ratio is changed from a rich condition to a lean condition. A lean signal of which a period of a referential value and less is high on the basis of an oxygen sensor signal is generated, a time when the lean signal is high is measured. In the case where the time is shorter than a prescribed value, the opening time of the solenoid valve 21 is extended, an air feed rate is increased to approach a target air-fuel ratio.
