Title:
AIR INTAKE DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3730062
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts and assembling processes and the weight of a device by arranging an air duct for atmospheric air intake to an air cleaner above an internal combustion engine so as to be extensive to the longitudinal direction and providing a suction noise reducing resonator or a side branch.
SOLUTION: An atmospheric air intake device comprises an air cleaner 7 for an internal combustion engine 3, arranged at one longitudinal end of the internal combustion engine having an engine cover mounted on the upper face, and an air duct pipe 8 for atmospheric air intake to the air cleaner 3, arranged above the internal combustion engine so as to be extensive to the longitudinal direction. The air duct pipe 8 is integrally formed with the engine cover mounted on the upper face of the internal combustion engine 3 and a resonator 9 or a side branch to be connected to the air duct pipe 8 on its midway is integrally formed with the engine cover.
