To provide an air massage device abnormality detection system which improves safety at the time of use by detecting the abnormality of the respective parts of a massage device at all times and shifting to an abnormality mode operation.
A control part which controls the drive of an air pump and a valve of the air massage device is provided with a timer for measuring time and a pressure sensor for measuring the pressure of a supply path of compressed air. The control part has an operation start step S13, a prescribed output air pump drive step S16 and a precompression mode step S18 successively from the time of power supply (step S11) to the time of air massage device use end (step S25) and has an abnormality discriminating step by the measured results of the pressure sensor and the timer between the respective steps. When the abnormality is detected in at least one of the pressure sensor, the air pump, the valve and the supply path for the pressure sensor by the abnormality discrimination, shifting to the abnormality mode operation (step S50) including the stoppage of the air pump and the closing operation of the valve is performed.
