Abstract:
PURPOSE: To impart good liquid impermeability and good use feeling while keeping sufficient air permeability by bonding an elastic sheet and a nonwoven fabric at a desired pattern bonding part under heating and pressure and providing venting holes to the bonded part of both of them.
CONSTITUTION: The elastic sheet 11 and nonwoven fabric 12 constituting a sheet like structure 10 are superposed one upon another and laminated at a mutually extensible strip like bonding part 13 by thermal press bonding. The elastic sheet 11 in this example is composed of EVA and the nonwoven fabric 12 is formed from polyethylene staple fibers of a polypropylene spun lace by a water stream entangling method. The elastic sheet 11 and the nonwoven fabric 12 are bonded at the bonding part 13 under heating and pressure. The venting holes formed to the bonded part of the elastic sheet and the nonwoven fabric are extremely fine and permit the passage of air but do not substantially permit the passage of a liquid. Therefore, the obtained sheet like structure shows large air permeability at the bonded part while holding liquid impermeability.
