Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air pressure monitoring system and a tire capable of improving maintainability .SOLUTION: The air pressure monitoring system monitors a state of the air pressure of a tire on the basis of a grounding length in a circumferential direction between a tire provided in a vehicle and a road surface. The air pressure monitoring system includes: a piezoelectric element buried in the tire to generate voltage by expansion or compression due to deformation of the tire; a coil for generating a magnetic field by energization; a conductive connection member having rubber elasticity to electrically connecting the piezoelectric element and the coil; a magnetic field detection part provided in the vehicle to detect a magnetic field emitted from the coil through energization from the piezoelectric element through the connection member; a wheel speed detection part for detecting a wheel speed of the vehicle; and a calculation part for calculating a time length since the tire is grounded on the road surface till the separation of the tire on the basis of a change in the magnetic field detected by the magnetic field detection part, and using the calculated time length and the wheel speed detected by the wheel speed detection part to calculate a grounding length in a circumferential direction between the tire and the road surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
