To provide an air cleaning device for air conditioner capable of preventing falling or loss of a prefilter attached to an electric dust collecting part at the time of cleaning or the like, and easily finding out its wrong installation to an air conditioner while preventing energization to the electric dust collecting part.
This air cleaning device comprises the electric dust collecting part 1 including a dust collecting part main body 2 having a receiving terminal and a locking part 6 provided at a lower portion thereof, and the prefilter 15 having an upper part openably and closably attached to the upper surface side through a hinge part and a hook 18 to be engagingly locked by the locking part 6 of the dust collecting part main body 2 provided at a lower part; and a dust collecting part mount frame having a feeding terminal to connect with the receiving terminal and installed to an air duct of an air conditioner to mount the dust collecting part 1. If the electric dust collecting part 1 is contained in the dust collecting part mounting frame in a state where the prefilter 15 is imperfectly closed, the hook 18 of the prefilter 15 is collided to the dust collecting part mounting frame, so that the dust collecting part cannot be fixed.
