PURPOSE: To maintain a stable adsorption performance for odor components by providing light shielding plates which also serve as wind deflecting plates, the adsorption means added with a photocatalyst on the surface, and the exciting means exciting the photocatalyst between the filter in a draft passage and a ventilation fan.
CONSTITUTION: The light shielding plates 9 which also serve as wind deflecting plates are provided in the draft passage of an air cleaner between the filter 4 or a dust collecting unit 5 and the ventilation fan 10. The adsorption means 6 for odor components added with a photocatalyst on the surface or kneaded with the photocatalyst is disposed, and the exciting means 7 exciting the photocatalyst, such as an ultraviolet ray lamp, is provided. Thus, the dust in the room air is removed by the filter 4 or the dust collecting unit 5, and the room air is efficiently introduced into the adsorption means by the light shielding plates which also serve as wind deflecting plates so that the odor components are adsorbed. The adsorbed odor components are efficiently decomposed by the photocatalyst and the photocatalyst exciting means so that the stable adsorption capacity for odor components is maintained.
