Abstract:

PURPOSE: To conduct an efficient heat exchange to cool a high temp. raw air which has been sent out from a catalyst tank and reduce the electric power consumed by a regenerative heater for heating waste gas by a method wherein the raw air is first cooled by a heat exchanger for high temp. made of heat resisting material and then further cooled by a heat exchanger for low temp.

CONSTITUTION: The raw air is raised in pressure by a compressor 2, cooled by a cooler 3, passed through a heat exchanger 10 for low temp. (for use at not higher than 200°C) and then through a heat exchanger 11 for high temp. (for use at not lower than 200°C), heated by a heater 9 to a prescribed temp. and sent into a catalyst tank 4. The raw air is sent from the catalyst tank 4 through a conduit pipe 35 into the high temp. heat exchanger 11 to conduct heat exchange to lower its temp. and the raw air is then sent into the low temp. heat exchanger 10 to conduct heat exchange again to further lower its temp. to nearly normal temp. The raw air is thereafter sent into an adsorption column 5 for purification and the raw air thus purified is introduced into a low temp. separating part 100, whereby the electric power consumed by a regenerative heater 12 can be reduced.
