Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a spring characteristic according to the change in the capacity of each gas tank, by connecting a gas chamber on a hydraulic shock absorber selectively to a plurality of gas tanks which are diffent in capacity. CONSTITUTION:In the hydraulic shock absorber 1, an inner cylinder 3 is inserted into an outer cylinder 2 via one end of the latter, a piston member 4 fixed to the other end of the outer cylinder 2 is slidably fitted into te inner cylinder 3 and coil spring 5 is engaged with both the outer cylinder and the inner cylinder. The gas chamber 2' in the outer cylinder 2 of the hydraulic shock absorber 1 filled with a compressed gas is connected to a compressed-gas capacity change-over device 8 through a vent 6 and a pipe 7. The device 8 is provide with change-over operating shaft 9 which selectively opens and closes the gas tanks A-C fitted with change- over valves and different in capacity and change-over valves A'-C' provided for the gas tanks A-C, respectively, to connect the gas chamber 2' to each of the tanks A-C.
