Provided in the present invention are an air tank, outer casing device, excavation device, and excavation method, which provide cooling and lubrication functions with respect to a device which is a target to be supplied such as a hammer unit body, and which can supply working fluid with a reduced environment load. To this end, the excavation device (1) has an outer casing device (2) storing an air tank body (3), and a single hammer unit body (4) which can be attached to and detached from the outer casing device (2). The air tank body (3) comprises: a tank main body unit (31); an introduction unit (32) which is formed at the tank main body unit (31), and can introduce pre-treatment fluid which is gas-liquid mixing fluid, or gas and liquid, supplied from the outside of the same tank main body unit; an atomization unit (33) which can atomize the pre-treatment fluid introduced into the tank main body through the introduction unit (32); a diffusion unit (34) which is arranged at the area between the atomization unit and a discharge unit, and in which post-treatment fluid may collide; and a discharge unit (35) which is formed at the tank main body unit (31), and which can discharge the atomized post-treatment fluid.
