This air valve has an auxiliary valve 20 storing an auxiliary valve element 21, continuously installed at the lower part of a main valve 10 storing a float valve element 11. A valve casing 22 of the auxiliary valve 20 is divided into upper and lower valve casings 24, 25. The upper valve casing 24 is formed integrally with the lower part of a valve casing 13 of the main valve 10 and is provided with, at its inner periphery, an upper valve seat 30 abutted with the auxiliary valve element 21, while the lower valve casing 25 is provided with a valve stem insert part 23 for turning an auxiliary valve element 31.
