PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air valve in which assembling work including maintenance work and decomposing work can be carried out more easily.SOLUTION: This air valve 1X comprises: a valve box 2 having an aeration port 2a at its upper end and having a hollow part 2c at its lower inner part; a lid body 3 having a large air hole 3a adjacent to the aeration port 2a and installed at the valve box 2; a valve body guide 5 arranged at the hollow part 2c; a float valve body 6 arranged inside the valve body guide 5; and a free moving valve body 7 arranged above the float valve body and having a small air hole 7a adjacent to the large air hole 3a. The lid body 3 has a lower cylindrical part 3b that extends to fit into the hollow part 2c. The outer surface of the lower cylindrical part 3b is formed with a recessed engaging groove 3c. The valve box 2 is provided with a lever 22 rotatably that has at its outer surface an operating part 22a and at its other surface an engaging part 22b that can be press contacted against the engaging groove 3c, and in the lever 22, at the first position, an engaging part 22b is press contacted to the engaging groove 3c and at the second position, the engaging part 22b is moved away from the engaging groove 3c, respectively.
