Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately judge the cause of an airbag having not been inflated at rapid deceleration of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A key cylinder 26 is integrally formed with a lock mechanism 44 for locking the rotation of a rotor 32. The lock mechanism 44 includes a lock pin 54, round which a coil 46 is wound. Rapid deceleration of a vehicle with the airbag switched over to its inflation-prohibited state causes an airbag inflating signal to flow along the coil 46 and thus to energize it. The energization of the coil 46 projects the pin 54 toward the rotor 32 in the cylinder 26 against the energizing force. The pin 54 is thus engaged with a notch 50 formed in the rotor 32 to lock the rotation of the rotor 32.
