PURPOSE: To perform the change between a, rotary wing and a fixed wing by a comparatively easy control and allow highly efficient low speed flight and high speed flight.

CONSTITUTION: An aircraft for vertical take-off and landing has two sets of rotors 1, 2 rotating in mutually reverse directions, a fixed position changing mechanism 3 for rotary wing, a nonstage speed changing mechanism 4 of the rotating speed of the rotary wing and an engine for giving a propulsive force in fixed wing mode which is independent from or commonly used with a rotary wing driving engine. This aircraft can efficiently fly in helicopter mode at low speed and in fixed wing mode at high speed.
