Abstract:
To provide a door opening/closing mechanism that can be easily installed in an aircraft lavatory unit of an existing aircraft, and is advantageous for prevention of Covid-19 infection onboard.SOLUTION: The door opening/closing mechanism includes a powered door opening mechanism 34 for moving a door 20 from a closed position to an open position. The powered door opening mechanism 34 includes: non-contact sensors 36 provided inside and outside a lavatory 1002 for detecting a part of the human body; a member 40 to be engaged that is provided on the door 20 and extends above the door 20; an engaging member 42 provided above the door 20 in the lavatory 1002, capable of engaging, from the door 20 side, with the member 40 to be engaged from the closed position of the door 20 to the open position of the door 20, and being in an open state in a direction away from the door 20; and a belt pulley mechanism 46A that moves the engaging member 42 in a direction away from a doorway 1212 by driving an electric motor 66 using a detection signal from the non-contact sensor 36, and moves the door 20 from the closed position to the open position via the member 40 to be engaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
