PURPOSE: To develop an Al alloy bearing material having excellent load resistance, wear resistance and lubricity by using the Al alloy power formed by incorporating a specific amt. of Pb or Sn and easily oxidizable element into Al and having the oxide film of the easily oxidizable element on the surface thereof as a raw material and molding and sintering the raw material.
CONSTITUTION: The powder of the Al alloy formed by incorporating 1W15wt% Pb or 1W20wt% Sn and ≤5wt% one or ≥2 kinds in total of lanthanide rare earth elements which are more easily oxidizable than Al into Al is produced. The film of the oxide of the above-mentioned lanthanide element or Al2O3 is formed on the surface of such Al powder and Pb, Sn, etc. are uniformly incorporated therein. The powder of such Al alloy is placed on a backing material such as steel plate or the like and is rolled. The rolled sheet is sintered at ≥450°C. The lubricating components such as Pb, etc. having large specific gravity are also uniformly dispersed and incorporated therein and the intermetallic compd. by the rare earth element is formed therein by which the bearing material having excellent wear resistance, load resistance and lubricity is produced.
