Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve corrosion and spalling resistances by molding, drying and firing a specified starting material blend.
CONSTITUTION: A starting material blend obtd. by kneading starting material for alumina with 5-40wt.% clinker consisting of 25-85wt.% Al2O3, 10-70wt.% ZrO2 and 5-25wt.% SiO2, 2-20wt.% CrO and 1-10wt.% sinterable powder (e.g. zircon) of ≤10μm average particle size is molded, dried at 100-200°C and fired at ≥1,300°C.
