To provide an alarm in which a pulling cord can be easily attached to a knob part when adjusting the length of the pulling cord for inspection in accordance with an installation level, and the pulling cord is hardly detached from the knob part once it is attached.
The alarm includes: a detecting means for detecting an occurrence of an abnormal state; a casing for housing the detecting means; a pulling cord having an instructing means for giving an instruction to the alarm by being pressed, and a pulling cord linked with the instructing means so as to press the instructing means by being pulled and hanging down from the casing; and the knob part provided with a through-hole through which the pulling cord is made to pass, wherein the through-hole is formed so as to pass through the entire knob part in a longitudinal direction, and includes a reduced diameter part, an expanded diameter part and a shoulder part formed between the reduced diameter part and the expanded diameter part, wherein the shoulder part is formed in the pulling cord to be a locking part to a knot housed in the expanded diameter part. A slit reaching the outermost part of a side of the knob part from the through-hole is provided over the entire through-hole in a longitudinal direction, and the cross section of the slit is formed in a tapered shape toward the through-hole.
