Abstract:
Heterocyclic compound of the formula: R<1>-A-CO-X-Y-R<2>, in which R<1> is carboxy(lower)alkyl or protected carboxy(lower)alkyl, R<2> is optionally substituted aralkyl, X is optionally substituted arylene, Y is -O- or (a), wherein R<6> is hydrogen, lower alkyl, optionally substituted aralkyl or amino-protective group, and A is a bivalent radical derived from imidazopyridine, azulene, thiophene, pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridine, quinolone, indazole or dihydrobenzimidazole, each of which may be substituted by one or more suitable substituent(s), which are useful as a testosterone 5 alpha -reductase inhibitor.
