Abstract:

To provide a resin material capable of providing an optical component having both high refractive index and high Abbe number, and an optical component such as an optical lens obtained using the resin material.

An alicyclic structure-containing polymer is obtained by at least polymerizing a polymerizable monomer composition including 5-30 wt.% of an alicyclic structure-containing polymerizable monomer (A) having a silicon-containing group represented by -A-Si(R1)(R2)(R3) (A is a single bond or the like, and each of R1-R3 is a 1-10C aliphatic hydrocarbon group or the like) and an alicyclic structure having carbon-carbon double bond in the ring, but having no aromatic ring structure; 50-90 wt.% of an alicyclic structure-containing polymerizable monomer (B) having an aromatic ring structure and an alicyclic structure having carbon-carbon double bond in the ring, but having no silicon atom; and 0-45 wt.% of a polymerizable monomer (C) copolymerizable with these monomers. The alicyclic structure-containing polymer composition contains the alicyclic structure-containing polymer and an inorganic compound. The optical component is obtained using this composition, and has a refractive index of 1.56 or more, an Abbe number of 50 or more, and a total light transmittance in a plate thickness of 3 mm of 85% or more.
