Abstract:

PURPOSE: To realize guarantee of an alignment, by measuring the positional deviation of a car body side upper arm installing part, and adjusting the deviation quantity based on the measured value converted to the deviation quantity of caster angle, at subassembly time in the suspension assembling process.

CONSTITUTION: Point data of each of right/ left suspensions are obtained by a car body measuring machine 7 set in a car body assembling line LA, and these measured values are input into a personal computer 6 for converting them to caster angle adjusting data. Next, a car body is moved to the side of a suspension alignment assembling device 14 of a front suspension assembling device 13, caster angle detected values in a caster angle detecting sensor 23 are read by the second personal computer 12, and the adjustment of the alignment is performed in tacking conditions. Then, while watching the picture data on the computer 12, the alignment adjustment is performed as the sum of the caster angle adjusting data and the caster angle detected value agrees with the regular caster angle.
