Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the control responsiveness in the steering operation by changing the caster angle according to the vehicle speed, the angle of the steering angle, the angular velocity of the steering wheel and the road surface condition μ, and driving a driving means when the actuator can not follow the command value.

CONSTITUTION: In a suspension device 1, the caster angle θ of the wheel 2 is adjusted by the action of the hydraulic actuator 7 interposed between a lower arm 5 where the lower end of a knuckle 3 to pivotably support the wheel 2 is connected to the vehicle body side and the vehicle body. The actuator 7 is driven by controlling a solenoid valve 8 according to the caster angle computed by an ECU 10 based on the detected results of the vehicle speed, the angle and the angular velocity of the steering wheel, the positions of G in the right-to- left direction and in the longitudinal direction. The ECU 10 stops a hydraulic power source 9 when the driving force of the hydraulic power source 9 which is the driving means, is in the preset range, while the ECU drives the hydraulic power source 9 when the deviation to the command value of the actuator 7 exceeds the preest value even when the driving force is in the preset range.
