Title:
ALKALI DECOMPOSITION OF HALOGENATED AROMATIC COMPOUNDS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3418845
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make halogenated aromatic compounds possible to be reduced lower than the detection limit by using an alkali substance in concentration higher than a designated level and coexisting a specific cyclic nitrogen compound when the halogenated aromatic compounds are brought into contact with the alkali substance in non-proton polar solvent.
CONSTITUTION: When a halogenated aromatic compound is brought into contact with an alkali substance for 1-10hr under a temperature of 150-200°C in non- proton polar solvent, the ratio of alkali substance in the system is made 3000mg/kg or higher in the beginning, under coexistence of a cyclic nitrogen compound, if necessary. The halogenated aromatic compound is diluted with hydrocarbon oil of which main component is non-aromatic hydrocarbon in a range from 2mg/kg to 80%. Sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, calcium hydroxide, etc., are used as an alkali substance, and quinoline, quinoxaline, ethylene urea, melamine, etc., are used as a cyclic nitrogen compound.
