Abstract:
To provide a method of removing alkali metal and a device for removing alkali metal for efficiently removing the alkali metal from material containing alkali metal such as woody biomass ash.SOLUTION: A method of removing alkali metal includes a heat treatment process of mixing a solid-state material containing alkali metal together with a material containing chlorine, heating the mixture, and thereby forming a chloride of alkali metal to fix the chloride into heat treated material as a solid phase, an alkali metal elution process of slurrying the heat treated material produced in the heat treatment process by adding moisture to the heat treated material and eluting the alkali metal of the chloride contained in the heat treated material in the slurry into a liquid phase and a solid-liquid separation process of performing solid-liquid separation of the slurry passing through the alkali metal elution process to make cake and filtrate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
