Title:
ALKALINE CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6129073
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the elusion quantity of zinc in a strong alkali solution and obtain an alkaline cell having suppressed deterioration of its capacity during storage for a long time by using an electrolyte made of caustic potash or caustic soda and containing specific zinc hydroxide.

CONSTITUTION: An aqueous solution of caustic potash or caustic soda containing one or more of α-Zn(OH)2, β-Zn(OH)2, γ-Zn(OH)2 is used as the electrolyte of an alkaline cell of a button type or the other. The content of the zinc hydroxide is preferably set within a range between the saturated dissolution quantity and 75wt% of it. By using the electrolyte of this composition, the high-performance alkaline cell with little deterioration of its capacity during storage for a long time can be formed.
