Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce voltage drop at high rate discharge of a cylindrical alkaline storage battery and enable charging and discharging of large current.
SOLUTION: The alkaline storage battery has electrode plate groups, that are wound up spirally via a separator and where a current collector is welded to the protruded part of the electrode plate groups that are equipped, such that the exposed part of the longer side of one side of electrode plate is protruded upwardly, and the exposed part of longer side of the other side part of electrode plate is protruded downwardly. Then, this current collector has slits having plural widths radially reaching the edge part from a circular opening of the central part of the flat plate, and both edge parts of each slit are folded in the welding direction of electrode plate groups, and the folded edge part is welded to the electrode plate groups.
