Abstract:
To provide an alkaline-water electrolysis membrane with low swelling and high stress resistance in a peripheral region and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A membrane for alkaline water electrolysis in the present disclosure includes a polymer containing an ion-exchangeable anion and has a first region and a second region surrounding the first region. A polymer composing the first region comprises a hydroxide ion as an anion, and a polymer composing the second region comprises virtually no hydroxide ion. The membrane for alkaline water electrolysis can be manufactured by substituting hydroxide ions contained in the peripheral region of the anion exchange membrane with anions other than hydroxide ions by ion exchange.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
