NEW MATERIAL:An alkanesulfonate derivative shown by the formula (R1 is 1W8C alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, halogen-substituted 1W4C alkyl, 3W7C cycloalkyl, 3W7C cycloalkylmethyl or benzyl; R2 is 1W3C alkyl, halogen-substituted 1W4C alkyl; R3 is H, 1W4C alkyl, halogen-substituted 1W4C alkyl, Br or Cl; x is 0, 1 or 2).
EXAMPLE: 2-n-Propylthio-4-methylsulfonyloxy-1,3-thiazole.
USE: Useful as an insecticide not only controlling insect pests in a contact may but also showing a permeating insecticide to be applied to roots of plants to destroy insect pests on leaves. Has no phytotoxicity at all to host crops.
PREPARATION: For example, a compound shown by the formula II is reacted with a compound shown by the formula III in a solvent preferably at 0°CW40°C, to give a compound shown by the formula I.
