Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new compound having excellent UV-A absorbance and compatibility with a silicone base agent and useful as a skin agent for external use.
CONSTITUTION: The siloxane of formula I (R1 is OH, 1-8C alkyl or 1-8C alkoxy; R2 is 1-7C alkyl; R3 is bivalent alkylene or oxyalkylene; R4 is 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or trimethylsiloxy; m is 0-3; p is 0 or 1; q is 0-3). The siloxane contains the unit of the formula O4-r/2SiR5r (R5 is same as R4; r is same as q). The subject compound can be produced by carrying out Claisen condensation reaction of a methyl alkyl ketone of the formula R2CO-CH3 with a compound of formula II (A is 1-5C alkyl; B is alkenyl or oxyalkenyl) and subjecting the obtained compound of formula III to the hydrosilylation reaction with a polysiloxane containing at least one Si-H group in the molecule.
