To obtain the subject compound having specific structure, capable of imparting polyurethane foam with acceptable flame retardancy, and also capable of suppressing the cloudiness of such polyurethane foam to a minimum when used as an automotive sheet member.
This compound is a halogen-free low-molecular or high-molecular alkylnene-bridged alkyl sulfonate of the formula ((n) is an integer of 1-20; R1 and R5 are each a 1-6C alkyl; R2 and R4 are each a 2-10C alkyl; R3 is a 2-10C alkyl acting as alkylene bridge group). The compound can be used as a flame retardant for imparting polyurethane foam with flame retardancy. Furthermore, in particular, this compound can also be used as a flame retardant for polyurethane foam parts such as automotive sheet members requiring low cloudiness.
