Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare an alkylmethylsiloxane mixture useful for softening and moisturizing skin. CONSTITUTION: This alkylmethylsiloxane mixture comprises one or more alkylmethylsiloxane solvent of the formula MeRSiOa Me2 SiOb or R'Me2 SiO (MeRSiO)w (Me2 SiO)x SiR'Me2 and one or more alkylmethylsiloxane wax of the formula R'Me2 SiO(Me2 SiO), (MeRSiO)2 SiMe2 R' [R is independently a 6-30C hydrocarbon; R' is methyl or R; (y) is 0-100; (z) is 1-100; (a) is 1-6; (b) is 0-5; (w) is 0-5; (x) is 0-5; with the proviso that (a)+(b) is 3-6, and when R' is methyl, (w) is not 0].
