Title:
ALL-WHEEL-DRIVE DEVICE FOR SADDLING TYPE VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6094857
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make a steering direction ever so better in time of cornering, by letting braked wheels skid at a fixed extent in a way of imposing driver's body weight on wheels on the other side where braking is not applied, at a time when either of front or rear wheels get braked, while transmitting the driving force of the other side ones to those being braked.

CONSTITUTION: During drive of a saddling type car 1, when a friction braking device 61 of rear wheels 16 is set in motion with a left rear brake lever 34 gripped and driver's body weight is imposed on the side of front wheels 14, rotation in these rear wheels 16 stops as much as a portion for lost motion lying between sprockets 54, 56 and a chain 57. And, when these front wheels 14 rotate as much as a portion for the lost motion, their turning force is added to real wheels 16 whereby these rear wheels 16 gets rotating even in time of being braked. When this braking operation takes place during cornering, these rear wheels 16 are skidded as far as a fixed extent and thereby driving force is added to these wheels 16 from the rear front wheel 14 so that a problem on the skid is solved even during braking operation. Therefore, such skid control as making a turning angle into a desired one is performable in an easy manner.
