Title:
ALLOY CHILLED ROLL STOCK EXCELLENT IN WEAR RESISTANCE AND ITS PRODUCTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS62211349
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To manufacture an alloy chilled roll stock excellent in wear resistance, by refining an alloy having a specific composition consisting of C, Si, Mn, P, S, Ni, Cr, Mo, W, and Fe, by chilling the melt, and by properly heat-treating the chilled alloy.

CONSTITUTION: The alloy having a composition consisting of, by weight, 3.0W4.2% C, 1.0W2.0% Si, 0.3W2.0% Mn, 0.01W0.5% P, ≤0.1% S, 0.2W4.0% Ni, 2.0W10% Cr, 6.0W10% Mo, 2.0W10% W, and the balance Fe with impurities is refined and chilled. The above chilled alloy is then held at 850W1,100°C and cooled at a cooling rate of 100W1,000°C/hr. After that, the above alloy is held at 400W550°C for 1W50hr. By the above heat treatment, large amounts of double carbides of W, Mo, and Cr are precipitated and distributed in a uniform and high-hardness martensite matrix, so that high-alloy chilled roll stock having superior wear resistance can be obtained.
