PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alloy for a primary battery negative electrode according to specifications suitable for use in a primary battery, and arranged by use of a magnesium alloy which brings about solutions to the problems #1 and #2.SOLUTION: An alloy for a primary battery negative electrode according to the present invention comprises: 4.0-6.0 mass% of aluminum to a total mass of the alloy; 0.5-1.0 mass% of calcium to the total mass; the balance consisting of magnesium; and an inevitable mixture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
