Title:
ALLOY FOR RARE EARTH BOND MAGNET
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06128703
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce an alloy for rare earth bond magnet having stable and superior characteristics by specifying the average primary arm spacing in a segregation in the center of an ingot of an alloy which consists of rare earth elements including Sm and transition metals and has dendritic segregations all over.

CONSTITUTION: In an R2TM17 alloy having a basic composition consisting of at least one rare earth element (R) including Y and transition metal (TM), dendritic segregations are provided to all over the alloy and the average primary arm spacing in a dendritic segregation in the center of an ingot (20 to 30mm thick) is regulated so that it is two or more times longer than the average primary arm spacing in the arm end face layer. By this method, the alloy for rare earth bond magnet having high coercive force and rectangular hysteresis loop characteristic can be obtained.
