Abstract:
To obtain a new compound useful as a photo-polymerization initiator for ethylene unsaturated compound and a photo-reaction initiator for the photo- setting of a pigment system as a printing ink or a white lacquer.
This compound is expressed by the formula I [Ar1 is an aromatic group of the formula II (R5 to R9 are each H, a halogen, a 1-12C alkyl, etc.); Y is a 1-6C alkylene, xylylene, cyclohexylene, etc.; R1 is (CH2R13)p-C (R14)=(CR15)-R16, etc.; R3 and R4 are each a 1-12C alkyl, OH, a 1-4C alkoxy, etc.; R13 to R16 are each H, an alkyl, etc.; (p) is 0 or 1], e.g. 2-(dimethylamino)-2- ethyl-1-(4-morpholinophenyl)-4-penten-1-one. The compound of the formula I can be produced by using a bis-aryl ketone of the formula Ar1-CO-CH2-Y-CH2- CO-Ar1 as a starting substance, brominating the ketone and reacting with a compound of the formula, NHR3R4 and then with a compound of the formula, R1Hal.
