To obtain a mew α-aminoacetophenone derivative bearing allyl or aralkyl group on the α-site, having especially high activity as a photoinitiator, and effectively usable in esp. printing inks.
This new derivative is a compound (acid-added salt thereof) of formula I {Ar1 is an aromatic group of formula II or formula III [U is O, S, etc.; V is O, S, CH2, etc.; W is a straight-chain or branched 1-7C alkaline; R1 is a group of formula IV (R13 is H, a 1-8C alkyl or phenyl; R14 to R16 are each H or a 1-4C alkyl; (p) is 0 or 1), etc.; R2 is one of R1s or a 1-12C alkyl; R3 is a 1-12C alkyl, etc.; R4 is a 1-12C alkyl, hydroxyl, etc.]}e.g. 2-(dimehjylamino)-2-ethyl-1-(4-morpholinophenyl)-4-penten-1-one. The compound of formula I is synthesizes, for example, using ketone as the starting material according to known reaction processes including C-allylation or C-benzylation.
