To obtain a woven fabric having a degummed silky elegant appearance or touch feeling by alternately arranging polyester yarns of respective single filaments having a noncircular and substantially unequal cross section with other yarns.
This alternately arranged degummed silky woven fabric is obtained by carrying out the conjugated spinning of polyethylene terephthalate as a sparingly alkali-soluble component and a block polyether ester copolymerized with polyethylene glycol as a readily alkali-soluble component, forming a polyester-based lamination type multifilament yarn, then alternately arranging a sized yarn of the lamination type multifilament yarn and a sized yarn of a regular polyester multifilament yarn as warp yarns and alternately picking the lamination type multifilament yarn and a regular polyester multifilament yarn as weft yarns one by one, weaving an alternately arranged woven fabric of a plain weave and then carrying out the scouring, relaxing and alkali weight reduction treatment.
