Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide an aluminum alloy bearing excellent in load resistance by applying solution treatment and artificial aging treatment to a bearing alloy layer to set its hardness to a specified value or more, in a multilayer bearing of including the bearing alloy layer and a back plate composed of specified material and the rest of Al.

CONSTITUTION: A multilayer bearing includes a bearing alloy and a back plate composed of, by weight, 2 to 8% Zn, 0.1 to 8% Si, 0.1 to 3% Cu, 0.05 to 3% Mg and substantially the rest of Al. After performing rolling work, by heating a laminated unit, formed of a bearing alloy plate and a back metal plate, to 400°C or more, applying solution treatment and further by applying artificial aging treatment to the bearing alloy at a temperature of 250°C or less, a bearing alloy layer excellent in load resistance, having hardness of Hv70 or more, can be obtained.
