Title:
ALUMINUM ALLOY COMPOSITE MATERIAL FOR BRAZING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0623535
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To impart high strength, high corrosion resistance and excellent brazeability by cladding an Al-Si brazing filler metal on one surface of an Al alloy core material having a specific compsn. contg. Mg at a decreased ratio and cladding an Mg-contg. Al alloy on an opposite surface.

CONSTITUTION: The compsn. of the core material is constituted of the Al alloy contg., by weight%, ≤0.2% Mg as an impurity, and contg. 0.2 to 1.5% Mn, 0.3 to 1.3% Si, 0.02 to 0.3% Ti, and if necessary, ≤0.6% Cu, ≤0.3% Cr and ≤0.2% Zr. The Al-Si brazing filler metal 3 is clad on one surface of this Al alloy core material 1. A sheath substrate 2 consisting of the Al alloy contg. 0.3 to 3% Mg and, if necessary ≤5% Zn is clad on the opposite surface thereof. The thickness of the core material 1 is preferably about ≥2.5 times the thickness of the brazing filler metal 3 and 0.1 to 1mm. A remarkable effect is expected when this Al alloy composite material is assembled by a 'Alcan Nocolok(R)' welding method.
