Abstract:

PURPOSE: To use even an aluminum foil having a comparatively large quantity of Fe and Si as an electrolytic capacitor electrode foil without causing the lowering of electrostatic capacitance and the increase of leakage current by controlling the quantities of deposited Fe and deposited Si in the aluminum foil to a fixed value or less.

CONSTITUTION: The purity of aluminum is or exceeds 99.9%, and 0.0015W0.008 wt.% Fe and 0.0015W0.01 wt.% Si are contained. The quantities of Fe and Si are regulated respectively to a value lower than 10% of content thereof. Accordingly, etching suitability can be improved by regulating the quantities of Fe and Si precipitated even in an aluminum foil having a comparatively large quantity of Fe and Si, abnormal dissolution at the time of etching is prevented, the aluminum foil having high tunnel density and a large surface extension rate can be manufactured, and large electrostatic capacitance can be obtained.
